NEW BRUNSWICK HOUSING CORPORATIONDEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER (DISO) / IT LEAD (Under Review)(PAY BAND 6)FREDERICTONOPEN COMPETITION - TEMPORARY OPPORTUNITYThe New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC) is seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join the Business System Support team as the Departmental Information Security Officer (DISO) / IT Lead in Fredericton.The NBHC is focused on working with all levels of government, community groups, organizations, and the private sector to identify and maximize housing development opportunities while providing support through a housing strategy to positively impact New Brunswickers.Reporting to the Business System Support Manager, the successful candidate will serve a dual role, providing technical leadership for NBHC¿s IT systems, including leading the development and execution of the Corporation¿s IT and digital transformation strategy, while ensuring compliance with government security standards and safeguarding organizational information assets.Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:Developing, implementing, and monitoring IT security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with government requirements;Conducting Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs), Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), and security reviews (penetration testing, Privacy Impact Assessments etc.) for new and existing systems and applications;Overseeing system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to maintain system stability, performance, and security;Managing security incidents and ensuring appropriate response and reporting;Represent the Department on various committees and working groups, including the Departmental Information Security Officers working group;Leading the development and continuous evolution of NBHC¿s IT strategy and digital transformation roadmap, aligned with GNB priorities;Leading the strategic digital transformation initiatives by identifying, prioritizing, and driving opportunities to modernize, improve, and consolidate systems and business processes;Assessing new and existing applications to ensure alignment with business needs, strategic IT direction, technical standards, and security requirements;Providing guidance and leadership throughout the lifecycle of IT initiatives, including system design, testing, implementation, and change management, with a focus on delivering transformative business outcomes;Collaborating with Service New Brunswick (SNB) and other departments on enterprise-wide initiatives and service delivery;Providing advice and recommendations to management on IT solutions, risks, and security considerations, including strategic direction on digital innovation and transformation;Acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for NBHC applications, providing advanced support, troubleshooting, and guidance to technical teams and developers.Need to have: A bachelor¿s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in information security, IT strategy and operations and systems support; or a two (2) year diploma in an Information Technology discipline and nine (9) years related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English is required.
