Lead Penetration Tester – Defence (TSPV Required) Location: ACT (Onsite)

Cognitio Digital is seeking experienced Lead Penetration Testers to support a critical Defence capability within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to work on complex, mission‑critical systems protecting Australia’s national interests.

About the role You will lead and execute advanced penetration testing activities across ICT applications and gateway infrastructure, delivering actionable insights to strengthen cyber security posture.

Key responsibilities - Lead penetration testing engagements across enterprise and operational environments

- Design and execute test plans, methodologies and simulated attack exercises

- Identify vulnerabilities and provide clear, defensible remediation advice

- Produce high-quality technical reports and stakeholder briefings

- Apply a range of industry tools, frameworks and techniques

What we’re looking for - Proven experience leading complex penetration testing engagements (SFIA Level 5 equivalent)

- Strong capability across digital forensics and security testing practices

- Hands‑on experience with commercial and bespoke penetration testing tools

- Relevant certifications such as CREST , CHECK Team Leader , or equivalent

- Ability to provide authoritative technical advice and contribute to standards

Mandatory requirements - Current TSPV security clearance

- Ability to obtain and pass ASD Organisation Suitability Assessment

- DISP‑aligned environment experience highly regarded

- Willingness to work onsite in ACT
