About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Offensive Security Analyst II to support our organization's proactive security efforts. This role will focus on executing offensive security activities including vulnerability management, threat hunting, penetration testing, and threat intelligence analysis.
The Offensive Security Analyst II will work closely with senior offensive security engineers and cross-functional teams (Red, Blue, and Purple) to simulate adversarial tactics, identify security gaps, and help strengthen the organization's overall security posture. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to deepen their expertise in offensive security and modern attack techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability scanning and assist with prioritization and remediation tracking
- Conduct threat hunting activities to identify suspicious behavior and potential threats
- Support threat intelligence efforts, including researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities
- Participate in Red Team, Blue Team, and Purple Team exercises to simulate real-world attack scenarios
- Execute penetration testing activities , including reconnaissance, exploitation, and documentation of findings.
- Assist in validating remediation efforts and retesting identified vulnerabilities
- Document findings, create detailed reports, and communicate results to technical teams
- Collaborate with Defensive Security, IT, and Engineering teams to support remediation efforts
- Utilize and maintain offensive security tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap
- Stay current on emerging threats, tools, and techniques in the offensive security landscape
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-4 years of experience in offensive security, vulnerability management, or penetration testing
- Foundational knowledge of security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or CIS
- Hands-on experience with common offensive security tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, etc.)
- Basic scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Understanding of networking, operating systems, and common attack vectors
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to threat hunting or threat intelligence practices
- Experience participating in penetration testing or red team exercises
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Industry certifications such as Security+, CEH, or working toward OSCP
