Offensive Security Engineer

Overview A well-known Australian enterprise organisation is seeking an Offensive Security Engineer to join their team on an initial twelve-month engagement.

Joining a high-profile cyber security program which will focus on the use of AI technologies within cyber, the successful candidate will be responsible for validating the effectiveness of security controls, detections, and logging capabilities across the organisation. Working within a collaborative security team, you will conduct red and purple team exercises, identify security gaps, and drive remediation activities to strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.

Qualifications - Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications

- Proven experience in offensive security, red teaming, purple teaming, or adversary emulation within large and complex environments

- Hands-on experience with attack-path analysis, exploitation techniques, command and control (C2) frameworks, and security testing across cloud, infrastructure, and endpoint environments

- Strong understanding of security monitoring, detection engineering, and logging validation

- Experience conducting Breach & Attack Simulation (BAS) activities and leveraging MITRE ATT&CK frameworks

- Ability to identify control gaps and work closely with engineering teams to drive remediation outcomes

- Strong Python scripting and automation capabilities

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
