Job Description

Paxus is partnering with a boutique ICT consulting and cyber security organisation to recruit an experienced Penetration Tester . This opportunity is ideally suited to someone seeking a permanent role, though flexible engagement options will be considered.

This organisation is a recognised leader in the Australian market, delivering high-quality ICT Enterprise, Solution, Security, and Business Architecture services, along with advanced cyber security solutions to both Government and private sector clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities - Assist in the design, development, delivery, and sustainment of a comprehensive cyber assessment and testing capability

- Select appropriate testing methodologies through in-depth technical risk and vulnerability analysis

- Develop test scripts, materials, and test packs; conduct testing across networks, systems, and applications

- Identify vulnerabilities and non-conformance with standards and provide actionable recommendations

- Collaborate with project teams, security and solution architects, and application owners to define penetration testing scope and threat scenarios

- Plan and execute penetration testing activities, analyse results, and refine approaches as needed

- Contribute to the development of security testing standards and methodologies

- Perform penetration testing across web applications, networks, and cloud environments, and deliver detailed reports

- Stay up to date with emerging threats, attack techniques, and industry trends

- Support the development of tools, scripts, and automation for testing activities

Cyber Assurance & Risk Responsibilities - Interpret and apply information assurance and security policies to manage risk

- Provide guidance to ensure adherence to security architectures, strategies, standards, and frameworks

- Plan and conduct assurance and accreditation activities across complex and cross-functional environments

- Maintain documentation relating to risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.

Skills & Experience - Strong experience in technical cyber security testing and assurance

- Deep understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), including frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK

- Proven experience working with external vendors to deliver penetration testing engagements

- Ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments
