Job description

Role Summary

This role involves leading the security strategy and implementation for AI/ML systems across their entire lifecycle, including data ingestion, training, deployment, and inference. The focus is on identifying and mitigating AI-specific threats, securing AI pipelines and supply chains, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The position requires a senior-level security professional with deep technical expertise in AI/ML security, threat modeling, and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for AI/ML systems throughout their lifecycle, from data ingestion to deployment.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate AI-specific attack vectors such as prompt injection, data poisoning, jailbreaks, adversarial examples, and unsafe agent behaviors.
  • Secure AI supply chains, including validation and evaluation of third-party and open-source models, and protect model provenance.
  • Develop and enforce AI security policies, standards, and best practices in alignment with industry frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, and OWASP guidelines.
  • Partner with detection, response, and vulnerability management teams to extend monitoring and incident response capabilities to encompass AI-related threats.
  • Review and evaluate third-party AI solutions and integrations, ensuring compliance with security standards and risk mitigation.
  • Create controls for overseeing AI prompts, data movement, and guardrails across AI systems, and continuously monitor evolving AI threat intelligence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, and product teams to promote secure AI adoption and implementation.
  • Support customer-facing teams by providing technical expertise, security guidance, and training related to AI security topics for workshops, briefings, and engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in security engineering, information security, or related technical disciplines, with a focus on securing AI/ML systems.
  • Proven experience in defining and executing enterprise security strategies, particularly around AI and machine learning security challenges.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technology workflows, architectures, and potential security risks.
  • Familiarity with industry security frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, MITRE ATLAS, and OWASP Top 10 for AI.
  • Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), containerized solutions, and hybrid/on-prem infrastructure supporting AI workloads.
  • Strong skills in core security principles including threat modeling, secure system design, and access control, tailored to AI/ML environments.
  • Practical experience with AI red-teaming, penetration testing, and threat simulation targeting AI systems (e.g., prompt injection, data poisoning).
  • Programming proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and security tooling development.
  • Hands-on experience securing AI/ML development pipelines, including CI/CD, model/data integrity validation, and automated security testing.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership and clients.
  • Demonstrated mentoring skills and ability to serve as a senior technical advisor on AI security matters.
