Job description

About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing defense and cybersecurity organization developing advanced technology for critical national security and intelligence missions. Their expanding cyber team offers highly technical researchers the opportunity to tackle complex problems with significant autonomy and impact.

This role is ideal for a security researcher who wants to stay deeply technical rather than move into management.

Why Join?

  • Work on advanced vulnerability research and exploit development
  • Independently explore complex systems with minimal oversight
  • Directly contribute to critical national security missions
  • Stay on a technical career path with opportunities to mentor and influence research direction
  • Join a rapidly scaling cyber organization with strong technical resources
  • 5 weeks PTO , performance bonus, and relocation assistance

What You'll Do

  • Conduct vulnerability research across kernels, firmware, hypervisors, embedded systems, and application stacks
  • Reverse engineer binaries across x86/x64, ARM, and PowerPC
  • Develop novel exploits and evaluate security mitigations
  • Research ambiguous attack surfaces and turn findings into validated vulnerabilities
  • Build research tooling and collaborate with senior security researchers

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on vulnerability research and exploit development
  • Proven offensive cybersecurity engineering experience — vulnerability research, exploit development, or CNO development
  • Strong reverse engineering and low-level systems expertise
  • Demonstrated exploit development, including proof-of-concept exploits and mitigation bypasses
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with static and dynamic binary analysis , IDA Pro, fuzzing, or symbolic execution
  • Experience with kernels, firmware, hypervisors, embedded/RTOS, mobile, or networking systems is highly valued
  • Active U.S. Top Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to work onsite or relocate to St. Petersburg, Melbourne, or San Antonio

If you're an offensive security engineer who wants to solve hard technical problems, conduct meaningful vulnerability research, and remain on a technical career path, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
